Robin Hood names interim CEO as Wes Moore exits

Derek Ferguson will serve as interim CEO at Robin Hood following the departure of the foundation’s previous leader, Wes Moore, last week.
Ferguson has been the anti-poverty organization’s chief operating officer since 2017, after a career in finance during which he advised Sean "Diddy" Combs on his businesses.
Moore announced that he would step down from leading Robin Hood in February, before saying that he was seriously considering running to become governor of Maryland, where he grew up. While he hasn’t announced his candidacy, he has created a campaign fundraising committee in the state.
The New York City-based foundation has credited Moore for helping it raise more than $650 million during his tenure. He also oversaw its relief fund created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has distributed about $78.3 million to nonprofits, and the creation of a new initiative increasing support and funding for nonprofits led by people of color.
