CEO Corner: Ronald Richter, JCCA

New York Nonprofit Media sat with JCCA’s Executive Director Ronald Richter to discuss the nearly 200-year-old organization’s rebranding (including a name change from Jewish Child Care Association to “JCCA”), its work advocating for foster families, and insights he brings to the job. Richter worked as a commissioner for the Administration for Children’s Services during the Bloomberg administration and since May of 2015 he has served as JCCA’s Executive Director, running a nonprofit with a budget of about $110 million that operates 40 programs throughout New York City, Long Island and Westchester serving the most vulnerable children. He stressed that whether working within government or in a nonprofit, there are are constraints that must be overcome. He also pointed out some new partnerships which he hopes will help JCCA continue to “repair the world, child by child.”
